Stephen is CEO of Salvere Social Enterprise CIC which is also a mutual pathfinder in the second wave of government pathfinders. From 2003 to December 2010 Stephen was Director of Social Services and Adult Social Care at Blackburn with Darwen Council before stepping out to create a social enterprise.
Salvere is designed to approach personalisation from a universal and boundaryless perspective. You don't need to prove anything to use it. Anyone can have the support on offer through a web based portal for support assistance. So it's as much for people with health and social care needs as it is for anyone who wants support. The concept is to encourage a significant growth in the number of people and organisations offering personalised support. The first area of focus is the North West of England.
Stephen wants to place citizens in the driving seat when it comes to developing personalisation. Salvere as a mutual will encourage anyone who offers support through Salvere and anyone who receives support through Salvere to become members of the mutual.
