Six Practices for Creative Engagement
Authors: John O'Brien and David Towell
This booklet was developed with the support of the Barrow Cadbury Trust. It is based on reflections with elected members and civic and public sector representatives in Wiltshire, who have generously shared their experiences.
Making progress on inclusion, sustainability and climate change requires active partnerships between citizens and their local government. Partnership grows in conversations that create shared understanding and the will to act.
Practices for conversation are an aid to these necessary meetings: six simple but systematic methods for generating productive engagement among interested participants which it is hoped local leaders will use, adapt and develop as they seek better ways to created valued futures.
