Innovation and the Work Programme

This report by Su Maddock provides a detailed overview of the UK government's Work Programme. The Programme, which is highly centralised and involves a complex commissioning system, promised to pay for itself in the reduced cost of benefits and to actively promote personalisation and innovation. The report explores the feasibility of these claims and questions whether greater centralisation can really be reconciled with increased innovation.
