Floyd Millen

Floyd is the founder and Director of the public affairs think tank, yesMinister.       He is the former Head of Policy and Communications for the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion. 

Floyd was previously the Programme Director of 'Building Futures' a Department for Work and Pensions funded initiative which brought the voluntary sector and the private sector together to create jobs.

Floyd is the former Chief Executive of the Social Policy think tank ROTA and is a former Adviser to the Metropolitan Police Authority.

Floyd studied British Politics in Hull under the Conservative Peer, Professor the Lord Norton of Louth and has a PhD in Political Science and Criminology from Loughborough University. He has worked in the private sector managing and re-branding a soft drink manufacturing business. In the public and voluntary sectors Floyd has managed European Social Fund (ESF) programs. In the early 1990s Floyd worked as a Contracts and FAM Manager for two Training and Enterprise Councils.

Floyd sits on the Council of the Hansard Society and since 2007 has been on the Research Committee of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). He is also a former council member of the Deaf Blind charity Sense and is currently on the Advisory Board of South Thames/Merton College Career Academy UK.
