Brooke Bates

Brooke is a final year Sociology student at the University of Nottingham, currently working on her dissertation. Brooke's academic interests include welfare systems, class structures and relations, gender and feminism, austerity and social policy. 

Brooke undertook an internship at the Centre for Welfare Reform, focusing on the impacts of austerity on women, and has also been involved in Community Engagement projects. 

Brooke was formerly the treasurer for Sociology Society at the University of Nottingham and also acted as a representative for fellow students. After university she hopes to continue working within the field of welfare and is passionate about working with and for disadvantaged members of society.

Brooke is originally from West Yorkshire, though she is currently based in Copenhagen for a few months. Brooke enjoy running, cycling, music and dance.
