Chris Moon-Willems is regarded as a respected voice for family carers based on her extensive experience in social care and the NHS combined with personal experience of caring for her elderly parents. She became one of the pioneers of personal budgets, and their influence on personalisation, at a national and local level in social care and the NHS.
Chris gained important insight into personalisation when her parents were among the first older people in the country to be given a personal budget to buy their own services. She appeared on Breakfast TV to tell the story of their journey from traditional services to personalised care and support and was interviewed on national radio stations.
As founder and owner of her elderly care consultancy, Relative Matters, Chris has created a dynamic business devoted to serving the needs of relatives and their ageing loved ones. What started out as a simple desire to share the story of her journey with her elderly parents has escalated into her new business and soon to be published book.
Chris is a qualified and registered social work professional, Master NLP Practitioner and a life coach. She has a passion and skill for helping older people and their families to think ‘outside the box’ for ways to meet their individual needs and circumstances in creative ways that, respect them as a person, maintain or improve their quality of life and provide value for money.
