Su Maddock

A social entrepreneur, consultant and academic, Su has extensive experience in public service leadership and innovation policy. She is a Visiting Professor, at the University of the West of England (UWE), former Director of the Whitehall Innovation Hub (WIH) and Eden Fellow.

Su is an advocate for social innovation and social enterprises and was a founding member of the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES). Her work on creating the ‘Conditions for Partnership’ in 1996 provided the foundation for the NW Change Centre in Manchester Business School, where she created opportunities for leaders in communities and public services to talk.

Su later adapted this business model for the WIH, where she facilitated exchange between senior civil servants and those in the regions. This model has since acknowledged by governments in NZ, Canada, Malaysia, Finland and Iceland.

Su is also a Judge for the Yorkshire and Humber Public Innovation Awards and Judge for the Guardian Public Leadership Awards.
