Personalisation in Health & Social Care

Slides exploring the genesis of personalisation and its subsequent meaning for professionals in health and social care services.

Personalisation is now seen as the latest government idea, however this is misleading. Personalisation is rooted in the disability movement and the varied efforts of different groups to fight institutionalisation, powerlessness and segregation.

These slides were presented to staff at the University of the West of England (UWE) at their annual event in June 2010.
