SDS Network: COVID-19 and Overview

The first webinar from the SDS network covered the issues of how countries were responding to the COVID-19 crisis, what the crisis can teach us about changes we need for the future and how this may impact the development of self-directed support.

The first webinar from the SDS Network was hosted by in Control Scotland. But as the webinar coincided with the COVID-19 crisis the first session also covered the issue of how people, families and services were coping with the crisis and some of the broader issues it raised.

The webinar began with a brief introduction from Keith Etherington:

Kirsi Konola of the Finnish organisation KVPS and also Vice president of EASPD (the European Association of the Services for Persons with Disabilities) provided an overview of what is happening across Europe:

Simon Duffy explored how people and families with self-directed support were coping and some of the big issues for the future that the crisis raises:
