Counting the Cuts in the media
Our latest report Counting the Cuts has had a lot of coverage in the media.
In The Guardian Zoe Williams writes:
"It's the cumulative impact of benefit cuts that is shocking. Disabled people are the worst hit of any group by myriad welfare changes that relentlessly reduce already meagre incomes."
Channel 4 News interviewed Kaliya Franklin and Simon Duffy who described benefits reforms as a 'deeply immoral' smokescreen:
Simon was also interviewed by BBC Radio Kent:
Baroness Hollins, past president of the BMA and the Royal College of Psychiatrists, said in response to the report:
"Disabled people are bearing much more than their fair share of the austerity burden. It's time to restore our sense of justice and get those with broader shoulders to stand up and be counted."
