Church letter in response to government's welfare reforms

The Mirror has published an open letter signed by 27 bishops in what has been described as the:

"Biggest political move by the Church of England in a generation as bishops attack the prime minister's welfare reforms."

Simon Duffy, Director of The Centre for Welfare Reform said:

"It is great to see the Church come out so strongly and so clearly against these shameful cuts that target disabled people and people in poverty, but which are parading as 'reforms'. This is exactly what we need when so few politicians are prepared to risk speaking out against the scapegoating and the stigma."
